We left for Alaska with two, now we are coming home with three!

A story of our trip home and what happens after that.

A Royal Wedding Kind of Day

Mom and I went to a friend's royal wedding viewing party yesterday. It was awesome, and we went shopping for a bit to find some sort of headgear to wear. I dressed Adeline in her baby legs to go shopping, and I guess she liked them!
Adeline is also ready for the wedding in her hair piece.

A Walk Around the Block

This is a close up of Adeline in the hat I made for her. You can tell it is a little big so we have to roll it up all the way around for her to still be able to see. Mom took her for a walk around the block in the stroller, so she had to bundle her up a bit.

Easter Sunday

A few pictures from today. We had a great Easter at Alyeska resort in Girdwood. Mom, Nick, Adeline and I went down to meet Heather and her son Conner for Easter brunch buffet. Holy smokes it was good! I have to say, they make a mean cheese blintz and eggs Benedict is always better with king crab! To top it all off, when we got home I took a three and a half hour nap followed by a short walk with mom and A. What an incredible day.
Our family by the big fireplace at the hotel.
Nick had to get a picture of A with the moose
Adeline was happy with Heather for a few pictures.

Nick's texts from his trip

Nick was at an NOAA facility near Soldovia, Alaska this past weekend. He got to do some neat tidal studies and check out an area of Alaska that we haven't seen. This particular picture is the sunset the first night he was there. This was the first text I got from him.
The next few texts I got were pictures of sea stars. Needless to say, I was super jealous that I didn't get to see these cool things up close!
This is my favorite.
This little fat guy is kind of neat, too.
This full moon from the NOAA dock is pretty. This was Saturday night.

Sunny Weekend

It was a beautiful weekend in Anchorage, almost fifty degrees and nice and sunny. Nick was out of town, so mom, Adeline and I went to the Alaska Women's Spring Show downtown. We HAD to stop at The Kobuk for some awesome coffee. Adeline loved hanging out in the back area. It was nice and bright so that we could enjoy the sun.
After the Women's Show we walked around a little downtown. Adeline had to model the new hat that we bought at the Show since it was so sunny. She may have to grow into it.
Jackson enjoying some rays and watching out for the neighborhood on the deck.
This is the hat I made for A on Saturday. It really only took a few hours and it turned out really well. It is another hat that she will grow into!

Adeline's doctor appointment day

I had to take a day off yesterday. Adeline's eye was kind of weepy and weird-looking for a few days, and I wanted to take her to the doctor. It turned out to be a clogged tear duct (not a big deal), but it gave me the opportunity to get some things done at home and spend some time with her.
I went to knitting and got to see my friends who I never get to see. This is Bethany with her sweet baby, Cooper. He is about 9.5 months old and Adeline just loves to see him!

I also got to hang out with Nick a little more. I just love how cute they both look in this picture.

This picture turned out really funny. We are sitting on the couch. The sun was coming in the window and it was on A, so Nick and I look like her back up band.

A great visit with dad, and a great weekend

On the last day that dad was here we decided to go to the zoo. It was a beautiful day! I love that it is getting warm enough to be outside.
Adeline went too, but we kept her pretty bundled. She didn't see any animals, but she loves being outside! Georgia will be a good place for her I think.
Dad posed with the eagles. I really like that the zoo here does rescues.
Mom and Adeline reading the paper. A is definitely gifted.
My new lot of cloth diapers also came. It is so weird how excited I am about them!
Mom washed Adeline's hair and gave her a faux hawk. It is not so neat anymore, since most of her hair sticks up anyway!

We had a school talent show today. Our team opened the teacher extravaganza with a bit of weird dancing to Irish music and then did some kind of thing with our hair to a song by Will Smith's daughter. I just remember that he did a song when I was around middle school age called "Parents Just Don't Understand." What a wake up to how old I am actually getting!

Bathing Beauty

I am trying out posting from my phone, so I chose one of the good pics I have taken recently.

The journey begins

I am really just trying this blogging thing out. I figure that it is a really good way for our friends and family to keep up with what we have going on, and what our next move might be. I hope that I will be good at keeping up with postings and pictures, especially as Adeline gets older. She is already growing so fast! Just to get things started, here is a great picture of her that I took a few weeks ago. Yes, my feet are on the table, but I promise that I wiped it down after.
As many of you know (if you are the aforementioned friends/family), we think that Nick is going to be graduating in July. We are hoping to move home very soon after that, and I have put in my resignation with the Anchorage School District. I am planning to stay home with Adeline, which I consider the most important job in the world. We aren't sure exactly where we are moving, but we are sure that it will be closer than Alaska!
