We left for Alaska with two, now we are coming home with three!

A story of our trip home and what happens after that.

It was yard sale day 1 today. Nick got to enjoy some good weather (and a little rain) for all his hard work. Adeline spent a little time outside. She also had a great nap today. Two and a half hours. Maybe this is a sign of things to come?

I almost forgot to put in some obligatory Adeline pictures. I have been yardsaling this weekend (selling, not buying) and she came along. The first one is her tummy time inside after the yard sale was over yesterday. The middle one is her in her warm track suit this morning. It was a little chilly. The last one is her when we got home. She finally fits perfectly into her sock monkey outfit, and I love it!

Well, I will be blogging mostly from my phone because ........ SCHOOL IS OUT!!!! Yep, no more pencils, no more books, no more students' dirty looks. It is summer! This also means saying goodbye to the best ladies anyone could work with, ever. They gave me a great send off. They all had on these UGA shirts under jackets and unveiled them at my goodbye. They even had one for me! Who else would do that? I feel that they will be taken care of, because the guy taking my place is also from Georgia and had on a UGA shirt, totally unplanned. Yep, they will be fine.

Almost done with school!

I was working in my room this morning, cleaning it out and all, and I looked out to find a moose on the soccer field this morning. He walked down the bleachers and just trotted out and into the bushes. How cool.

Lake Weekend

We had the great pleasure of going to my friend Theresa's lake villa this weekend. We went up and stayed Friday night. It was mom, Adeline and myself. There were eight ladies there and it was a GREAT time! The above picture is Adeline in our room. You can tell that she slept like a champ in our super comfy bed!

This is mom and Theresa as we walked down to see her cabin on the lake. Her property is just beautiful, and yes, the lake is frozen over.
Theresa, myself and Leslie. I will surely miss these ladies. They have made Alaska my home!

A few shots from Mother's Day weekend. We gave A a bath and towel dried her hair and then went to Spenard Roadhouse to eat. Fantastic day. The middle pic is an action shot at the restaurant, and the last one is how her hair looks on a daily basis. She just has cowlicks everywhere!

More Alaska things to miss

The view from my room. In the distance, you can see Sleeping Lady. AKA Mt. Susitna. Of course, the foreground is the school soccer field.
Here is a little more. This is the Alaska Range, again, behind the soccer field.
This last view is my team of teachers. We all dressed like the wonderful woman in the middle, Pam Collins. She is a great teacher who is retiring and it is also her birthday. I will miss these ladies very much when we leave.

One Alaska thing to miss

If you look really closely, you can see a black bear. This is what I saw on my way to school this morning. He had found a way into the "bear proof" garbage can. You don't really see this that often in Georgia! Unpredictable wildlife, one thing to miss when I leave.

A sunny day

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We decided to go for a walk on the coastal trail. It was then that I figured out that Adeline's sunglasses are too big. I did not leave them on, but this was too funny not to share!
